Cybercrime.
BEELEGAL's short seminars provide the interested audience with practice-relevant information on important everyday topics in a concise and brief form. As part of the spring 2019 event, a session on the subject of cybercrime was held at the firm's Zurich office. Due to the great response, the event will be repeated at the Brugg office on 15 November 2019.Cybercrime can be understood as the sum of all IT-based criminal attacks on the assets and integrity of private individuals and enterprises. The focus is on blackmailing, data theft, espionage or sabotage. Overall, the attacker aims either at obtaining an unjustified pecuniary advantage or simply at inflicting damage on the victim. Cybercrime is generally not an attack of a single person, but often a crime organized internationally on a large scale, using state-of-the-art technologies.
It has become indispensable for enterprises to address this issue. In the event of an attack, executive bodies and persons in charge who do not take protective measures may find themselves exposed to liability issues.
